This experiential workshop is 6 hours long and run over 2 days and introduces you to the origins and principles of mindfulness practices. Participants will move between instruction and guided sessions and gain an understanding of the application of mindfulness to stress, pain, illness, and the challenges faced in everyday life.
The course includes:
Orientation to the history and science of the benefits of meditation.
Sample guided mindfulness meditations and practices
Overview of stress response cycle
How non-judgmental awareness of thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations benefits stress and reactivity
Practical ways to bring mindfulness into daily life
